Oil and gas fields in Indonesia, the majority of which are mature fields, require more complex management and operations compared to newly discovered fields. Additionally, new oil and gas fields are often located in remote or deep-sea areas, which require handling and management that is not easy. The development of gas fields also requires certainty in gas sales contracts, which necessitates macroeconomic thinking heavily influenced by the global economy.

Therefore, experts/professionals/managers are needed who possess the ability to plan and implement oil and gas recovery technology and have up-to-date knowledge of the macro environment to carry out field management.

In addition to in-house training provided by the company of employment, there is still a need for further understanding and knowledge related to the aforementioned issues. To meet the needs of these experts/professionals/managers, the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy at Trisakti University has established the Master’s Program in Petroleum Engineering.

Initially, the Master’s Program in Petroleum Engineering was under the Graduate Program of Trisakti University. Subsequently, it was placed under the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy. The government’s trust, through BAN-PT, was issued through an Accreditation Certificate with an Accreditation rating of B on December 29, 2015, with the number 1263/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/XII/2015. As clearly stated on the certificate, the validity period of the accreditation rating is 5 (five) years from the date of issuance.
