On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology, Trisakti University, held a Fire and Earthquake Disaster Training and Simulation in Building D. Disaster Evacuation Teams were formed on each floor, in collaboration with the West Jakarta Fire Department.

Fire is a dangerous threat and can result in loss of life if proper prevention measures are not taken. This is the basis for the Firefighting Training and Simulation. To prevent fires and mitigate their impact, adequate fire knowledge and the availability of portable fire extinguishers are essential.

Vice Dean II Ir Dewi Syavitri, M.Sc., Ph.D as the person directly responsible for this activity said that it is important for all of us to be able to follow and understand this training so that we can carry out our duties with an open heart and enthusiasm, if something we don’t want happens. Building D is where we work, which we must guard and maintain for the safety of all of us said Vice Dean I Dr. Suryo Prakoso, S.T., M.T. on the sidelines of the opening and remarks.

The training materials presented include: Introduction to Fire Extinguishers and how to use them, Characteristics of fire sources and how to control them and standard operating procedures for extinguishing fires, Fire risk analysis, Fire emergency response and Fire management.

The training participants consisted of 25 lecturers and educational staff, who will later become members of the evacuation and rescue team in the event of a fire or earthquake within the building. The crucial lessons learned were knowledge and first aid in the event of a disaster, ensuring the comfort and safety of all of us, by us and for us all.
